Raw Senses proudly presents an exclusive collaboration between designer Raphael Kadid and BWB, showcasing a special edition of the Philae bookshelf. This collaboration marks the continuation of Raw Senses’ ongoing relationship with Raphael Kadid, having featured his work in past editions, and reflects its commitment to fostering meaningful industry partnerships. Crafted entirely from aluminium, this special edition draws inspiration from Kevin Krautgartner’s aerial photographs of aluminium mining sites, transforming them into vibrant, abstract landscapes.
Through BWB’s meticulous hand anodising process, the aluminium panels acquire a textured surface that echoes their raw mineral origins, creating unique, uneven topographical patterns. This project seamlessly blends modern machining with traditional craftsmanship, resulting in a modular, sustainable bookshelf that is both fully recyclable and adaptable.

RAW SENSES is an exhibition format focussed on supporting innovative contemporary designers and presenting them in Switzerland. To promote and uphold new design visions, we work to nurture contemporary creative practitioners interested in the physical manifestation of objects. In temporary exhibition spaces and through thematic approaches, Raw Senses provides a platform to address questions of mass production, consumption and the conditions of contemporary making. Above all, Raw Senses intends to establish a sustainable space and platform for experience and collaboration. Raw Senses believes in the value of design to create engagement and help make sense of the complexities and challenges of today.
