Music Pavilion

By Lorenz Bachmann

This short film invites viewers into the serene world of the Blue Pavilion, a hidden architectural gem nestled within the wild and introverted garden of a 1929 cottage in Winterthur. The film captures the pavilion’s timeless elegance, a delicate balance between openness and intimacy.

With its archetypal pitched roof echoing the steep forms of its neighbors, the pavilion seamlessly integrates into its context while offering a striking presence. Sliding glass façades on either side dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, framing the lush garden as a living artwork.

The shimmering scaled panels enveloping the structure evoke a mysterious, otherworldly quality, complementing the soft light and tranquil ambiance within. This cinematic portrayal celebrates the pavilion as both a retreat and a dialogue between tradition, modernity, and the natural world.
